Editorial policy

The standards used to separate sourced marketplace facts, product conventions, examples, and unresolved limits.

Source priority

MarketCalcs gives priority to current marketplace policy pages, seller fee schedules, official announcements, and official examples. A public source URL is stored with every rule intended for user-facing results.

Verification levels

  • Scoped estimate: official evidence supports a deliberately limited input range enforced by the calculation engine.
  • Verified rule: the complete represented rule has source, effective-date, and independent review evidence.
  • Draft: development-only information that must not be presented as production coverage.

What we do not infer

Missing categories, Store plans, surcharge conditions, effective dates, and statement-level rounding behavior are not filled from memory or silently assigned a default. Unsupported combinations remain visibly unavailable.

Updates and corrections

Rule changes require source review, calculation tests, visible scope updates, and a dated decision record. To report an error, use the corrections process or the contact page.

Independence

MarketCalcs is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by eBay. Marketplace names are used descriptively to identify the rules being modeled.
